Mission History
After striking Hollandia,
this aircraft and a wingman flying A-20G 42-86615 pulled out of formation
and became lost. They found the coast and followed
it down to Yamai Airfield, where they
put down
critically
short
of fuel. The aircraft was written off, and salvaged for parts by the
service squadrons.
Wreckage
The remains of this airframe are present, minus the tail, and outer
wing panels where it came to rest on "Black Sunday"
