Aircraft History Built by Mitsubishi. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Type 0 / A6M5 Model 52 Zero manufacture number 62343. Wartime History Assigned to an unknown Kōkūtai (Air Group). No known markings. Wartime History Ditched into Teuchi Harbor near Kagoshima. Wreckage The front half of this Zero, minus the tail was recovered from that harbor (date unknown). Display Since the early 1990's, displayed unrestored at the Peace Museum For Kamikaze Pilots / Chiran Kamikaze Museum. A piece of wreckage with manufacture number '62343' is displayed nearby.
