Aircraft History
One of four replica Type 1 Fighter / Ki-43-III Oscar built by Texas Aircraft Factory powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-1830-92 radial engine. These aircraft were reportedly restored using four wrecks recovered from the Kuril Islands (unknown what parts, if any) and new manufactured parts. By May 2004, this aircraft was standing on landing gear. Painted in the markings of Ki-43-III Oscar manufacture number 15344 assigned to the 54th Sentai, 3rd Chutai that served in the China-Burma-India (CBI).

The finished aircraft was purchased by Jack A. Erickson of Beaverton, Washington and registered with the FAAF as NX43JE as an experimental aircraft. First flight on June 11, 2008. During 2008, displayed at the Tillamook Air Museum. On April 21, 2016 registered to Nakajima N43JE LLC in Beaverton, Washington. Today displayed at the Erickson Aircraft Collection at Madras Municipal Airport in Madras, Oregon.
