Location
Lat 64° 50' 15N Long 147° 36' 52W  Ladd Army Air Airfield is located to the east of Fairbanks in Alaska in the United States. Also known as Ladd Field. Located at an elevation of 454' above sea level.

Construction
Built by the U.S. Army as a cold weather test station. During October 1940, Douglas O-38F 33-324 was the first aircraft to land at Ladd Field.

Postwar
During 1947 renamed Ladd Air Force Base (Ladd AFB) and used by the U.S. Air Force (USAF).

Today
Still in use today as Lad Army Air Airfield (Ladd AAF) and remains in use as a military airfield. The single runway is oriented 24/06 measures 8,570' x 150' surfaced with asphalt. Airport codes: FAA: FBK / ICAO: PAFB / IATA: FBK.
