This pic shows some examples of button types found around moresby.

Included are 7 Japanese Navy buttons on l-bottom, former souvenirs of some service man.

There are also 7 french militaire equipe alumn buttons on the r-bottom also  brought back by australians redeployed to pacific (post pearl harbour) after campaign in Syria against french forces.
(i once found a french foreign legion button - no longer in collection)
