Milne Bay Military Museum, Inc

The museum is located in a building known as "The Drill Hall", built 1917 for recruiting depot for the 11th Light Horse Regiment. Later, it became the training HQ for the 25th Battalion., during WWII, a recruiting center, and for "Darling Downs" soldiers during the 1950-60. Purchased in 1990 for a museum to display 25th Battalion history. The museum includes WWI display, WWII vehicles, women at war and captured Japanese souvineers, and Australian Peacekeeping display. Also, the museum has a research branch.

     Oakey Airfield (RAAF Oakey)

During the war, this was a RAAF training base. This aerodrome is still in use today by the RAAF and Australian Army.

Australian Army Museum of Flying
Museum at Oakey dedicated to Australian Army aviation. Its collection includes over a dozen historic and WWII era aircraft, and displays of other relics and items of interest.
