USN - Task Force 58 launched preliminary strikes on airfields around Sawar

April 22, 1944
USN - Task Force 58 Helldivers attacked a 2000 ton AK at anchor off Sarmi Point 6 bombs were dropped and 3 were very close on the second pass the AK was settling by the stern and verified sunk by other Navy aircraft in the area. (via Harold Buell wrote in "Dauntless Helldivers", page 269)
