Location
Lat 0° 25' 0S Long 132° 10' 60E  Village on the north coast of New Guinea on the Vogelkop Peninsula, near Sansapor due east of Biak. The US Army built Sansapor Airfield (Mar Drome) near this location.

History
On July 30, 1944, Allied (Task Force TYPHOON) land near Mar.  The landings, made without preparatory bombardment to achieve surprise, meet no opposition.
