Location
Fifth largest and farthest west Philippine Island, Palawan streches 275 miles in length.  (Palawan Province) Palawan is a small archipelago located between the Sulu and the South China seas, approximately 586 kilometers west southwest of Manila. This sun swept chain of approximately is composed of 1769 odd island and islets that stretches over a length of 426 kilometers

Puerto Princesa
Lat 9° 43' 60N Long 118° 43' 60E Located roughly in the middle of Palawan's east coast, on a sheltered bay of the same name. A RCT of the 41st Division landed at Puerto Princesa on Feburary 28, 1945 and met no opposition on the beach, after heavy bombing by 5th and 13th AF bombers. 

Puerto Princesa POW Camp
Wartime Prisoner of war camp, where the POWs were killed at the end of the war, in open pit with gasoline, bullets and hand gernades, to make it appear that they died in an Allied air raid.
