Tarlac Province

Luzon | Philippines

Province located in central Luzon. The MacArthur Highway runs north-south thru the province.

Tarlac City
Provincial capital, located in the center of the Province. A pre-war locomotive of from the Manila to Dagupan Rail Road line, that formally ran through Tarlac City is displayed in the center of town, and a rail car. A second locomotive is displayed at Dagupan Museum.

Located in the north-west of the province.

Capas
Click For EnlargementLocated to the south-west of Tarlac city. The final mileage markers of death march are located outside Camp O'Donnel, 111km, 100km and 109km. Each marker was donated by a private individual or organization and is listed on the rear of the marker. The Camp O'Donnel POW Camp and memorial.

 

Bamban (Bambam)

     Bamban Airfield (Bambam)

Location
Located to the north-east of Bamban town, and to the north of the Bamban River. Capas is located to the north-west.

Construction
MapAmerican built pair of runways about 5 miles north of Mabalacat, northern most field in the Clark Field complex area.

Wartime History
Used by the Japanese Navy and Army Air Force as a major airfield. Several units were assigned there including a mix of Japanese navy and army air units (in transit).
