Lassul Bay
During the 1920's the German administration placed a reef marker at this location, still present to this day. In a tragic series of events, two PT Boats were caught inside the enemy side of the demarcation line on New Britain and were attacked by friendly aircraft when discovered the next morning. In the end, both PT boats were sunk and 19 killed aboard them. Two aircraft shot down by defensive return fire from the PT Boats.
