Peter Flahavin 1996

Location
Coastal area west of the Kokumbona. The Poha River flows out to the sea at this location.

History
Occupied by the Japanese. On January 23, 1943, US Army forces, aided by P-39 Airacobras and USMC aircraft push up the Guadalcanal coast to take Kokumbona and the Poha.

Japanse Artillery Tractors
Located on the west side of the Poha River, abandoned by the Japanese. Peter Flahavin adds: "They must have been abandoned here for lack of fuel. It looked like they had been disabled by the Japanese with grenades."
