Udot Island

Island located near the center of Truk Lagoon. To the west is Tol Island.

Army units on Udot were commanded by Captain Kneori Fukutome. Units included: Army 337th Independent Battalion of the 51st Independent Mixed Brigade, which arrived on March 26, 1944. Also 1,025 Navy personnel from 4th Fleet HQ (15 men), 43rd Naval Guard Force (73 men), 48th Naval Guard Force (116 men), 4th Naval Stores Department (25 men), 4th Civilian Engineering Department (796 men). Bases for one man controlled torpedoes were planned at Udot, but never completed. An improvised torpedo attack unit was planned for southern Udot with four Daihatsu landing craft carrying two torpedoes, but preparations were never completed.

Eot
Small island to the north-east of Udot Island. On nearby Eot was the 41st Naval Guard Force (168 men) and 43rd Naval Guard Force (143 men). Bases for one man controlled torpedoes were planned at Eot, but never completed

Engineering and troops of the 43th and 48th Naval Guard forces were stationed here.
