Nakajima E8N2 (Dave)
Catapult launched reconnaissance aircraft, saw
service aboard aircraft tenders, battleships, cruisers. The type
actually scored aerial victories during the second Sino-Japanese
war, where it sometimes operated as a dive bomber, reconnaissance
and spotter. When WWII started, this aircraft was being phased
out of service with the E13A1 Jake
and F1M2 Pete, but during
the earlier stages of the war this plane was operated, and sometimes
retained for second-line duty.
