Television documentary aired in mid 2003 in the United States,
it is available for sale on VHS and DVD. On January 18, 1943,
Major William G. Benn and his crew crashed their B-25 bomber in the
New Guinea jungle while on a routine patrol mission. His B-25C joined
the countless other American craft lost on the mountainous, undeveloped
island, where there are more missing WWII-era American aircraft than
anywhere else on earth.
Fifty years later, a Philadelphia businessman named Alfred
Hagen - Benn's grand-nephew--embarked on an epic
quest to (rediscover) his great uncle's plane wreck: B-25 41-12485. Ultimately, he rediscoveres Benn's bomber. Also, he locates the remains of another
plane, a P-47D 42-8059.
