Tank History
General Krueger called
for 1st Marine Division tanks, that had remained behind at Finschafen, after enough tanks were deployed at Cape Glouchester. Eighteen tanks
of Company B, 1st Marine Tank Battalion were sent as reinforcements to Arawe.
Wartime History
Used in a counter attacked on January 16, 1944, when
the eighteen tanks supported by infantry drove the Japanese from their entrenced positions, ending fighting in the Arawe area.
Wreckage
Abandoned after the battle at Arawe.
