Background
The 433rd Troop Carrier Group (433rd TCG) was part of the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) and includes Headquarters Squadron (HQ), 65th Troop Carrier Squadron (65th TCS), 66th Troop Carrier Squadron (66th TCS), 67th Troop Carrier Squadron (67th TCS), 68th Troop Carrier Squadron (68th TCS) and 69th Troop Carrier Squadron (69th TCS). Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 54th Troop Carrier Wing (54th TCW) in the South West Pacific Area (SWPA).

Headquarters Squadron (HQ)
The Headquarters Squadron (HQ) of the 433rd Troop Carrier Group (433rd TCG). During August 1943 sent overseas to the South West Pacific Area (SWPA). On August 25, 1943 HQ sqadron arrives at Port Moresby. On January 19, 1945 HQ sqadron moves to Tanauan Airfield on Lyete.
