Japanese missions against Broome and Roebuck Bay

(Raid 1) Over fifteen minutes, nine A6M2 Zeros led by Akira Hayashi in a C5M2 Babs strafe Broome, Broome Airifeld and Roebuck Bay.
This was Australia's second worst air raid with 70 people
killed and a total of 24 aircraft destroyed (including 16 flying
boats). Lost is A6M2 Zero piloted by Kudo (MIA) and another
ditched returning from the mission.
March 20 1942
(Raid 2) G4M Bettys attacked the airfield at high altitude. There are
a number of craters off the end of the strip and in the tidal
flats. One aboriginal was killed by a bomb splinter. No other
casualties or damage was caused.
