Location Lat 25° 31' 0" N Long 96° 43' 0" E Kamaing Airfield was located at an elevation approximately of 830' / 252m near Kamaing in the Mogaung Valley of northern Burma. Today located in Kachin State in Myanmar. Wartime History Occupied by the Japanese. Attacked by American aircraft between 1943 until the middle of 1944. By May 19, 1944 the Chinese Nationalist Army 22nd Division and 38th Division had encircled Kamaing. During late June 1944 B-24 Liberators were used to fly gasoline to this location for use during forward operations.
