Location
Located at Lauthala Bay to the east of Suva on the southern coast of Viti Levu Island. Also known as Laucala Bay.

Construction
During the war, the U.S. Navy (USN) established a seaplane base at Lauthala Bay.

Wartime History
During 1944-1945, US Navy Navy Air Transport Service (NATS) operated from this location. During 1945, RNZAF Sunderlands also operated from this location
