Lat 0° 55' 35S Long 131° 7' 16E Located on Jefman Island (Efman). Also known as Jefman Island Airfield. One of the most western Japanese airstrips
on New Guinea. Four miles across the strait was Samate Airfield (Semate). To the west four miles away is Samate and Samate Airfield (Semate).
During the middle of 1944, Japanese aircraft from the Sulawesi (Celebes) were temporarily based at Jefman to attack American
forces occupying Biak during late May 1944.

as a military airfield. The airfield
