Location Miti Airfield was located on Miti Island off the eastern coast of Halmahera Island in the Molucca Island Group (Molucca Islands). Also known as Miti Island Airfield or Miti Drome. Prewar, during the Pacific War located in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in North Maluku Province (Provinsi Maluku Utara) in Indonesia. Wartime History During the Pacific War, used by the Japanese. Attacked by Allied aircraft between the middle of 1944 until early August 1945. Occupied by the Japanese until the official surrender of Japan in early September 1945. American missions against Miti July 27, 1944–August 5, 1945 Today Disused since the war, the runway remains, but with houses and buildings constructed on the left and right sides. Contribute
