Location Wasile Airfield was located on the eastern side of Wasile Bay near Galela on Halmahera Island (Pulau Halmahera) in the Molucca Island Group (Molucca Islands). Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in North Maluku Province (Provinsi Maluku Utara) in Indonesia. Construction Built by the Japanese as a single runway on the eastern side of Wasile Bay after the construction of Galela Airfield. Wartime History Wasile Airfield was used by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). Starting in the middle of August 1944 targeted by Allied bombers and fighters until early January 1945.
