Lat 31° 22' 3N Long 130° 50' 44E Kanoya Airfield is located at Kanoya in Kagoshima Prefecture on Kyūshū in Japan.
Built prewar by the Japanese Navy with two runways: Kanoya Airfield to the west and Kanoya East Airfield (Kanoya East) further inland to the east.
During 1945, Kanoya Airfield was used to launch kamikaze attacks. A total of 829 Kamikaze pilots were killed on their missions after taking off from Kanoya Airfield.
