Location Lat 5° 58' 60N Long 116° 4' 0E Jesselton Airfield is located on the north coast of Borneo, south of Jesselton (Kota Kinabalu). Also known as Kota Kinabalu or Api (fire) or "Api Api". Wartime History Occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War. American missions against Jesselton December 17, 1944 - July 25, 1945 Today Still in use today as a civil airport and point of entry. Today known as Kota Kinabalu Airport.
