    Kanchuerhmiao Airfield Hulunbuir Prov Manchuria (Manchukuo) | China

Location
Located in western Manchuria, north of Uzur Nur and Nomonhan, east of the border with Mongolia. In Russian, this airfield was known as "Gandjur-Miao" also spelled "Kanjur Miao". In 1938, a railroad line connecting Halun-Arshaan-Gandjur-Miao was planned.

Construction
Built by the Japanese during early 1939, in use by early May, 1939.

Wartime History
During the Battle of Khalkhin Gol / Nomonhan Incident this airfield was near the frontline. On May 13, JAAF aircraft relocated to this forward airfield from Hailar area.

On June 17, I-15's armed with 20mm cannons strafed this airfield inside Manchuria, first time Soviet aircraft deliberately crossed the border for an offensive mission.

Afterwards, on June 23, an additional fifty-nine Ki-27 were sent forward to this airfield, to prepair for offensive operations. "Operational Order A-1", a secret raid on targets inside Mongolia.

On June 27, Ki-27s of the 24th Sentai took off from Kanchuerhmiao airfiield took off in the morning to attack Tamsagbulak Airfield and Bain-Tumen Airfield in Mongolia.
