    Tanauan Airfield Batangas Province | Luzon Philippines

Location
Located near Tanauan in Batangas Provinece.

Construction
Concieved prior to the war, this airfield was built by US Army engineers during 1941 and completed during December 1941 to accommodate B-17 Flying Fortresses, as an alternate airfield south of Manila.

Wartime History
Although completed, this airfield was abandoned when the US Army ordered all forces to Bataan, and was never used by the Americans. When the Japanese occupied the area, they used Lipa Airfield (Fernando AFB) instead.
