Location Matsuyama Airfield was located at Taihoku (Taipei) at the northern edge of Taiwan (Formosa) in the Northern Taiwan Region. Also known as Taihoku Airfield. Borders the Kiirun River (Kiirun-Ka) to the north and east. Postwar known as Chaing Kai Shek Airport. Today known as Taoyuan International Airport or Taoyuan Airport Construction Built by the Japanese during the colonial era. Wartime History Matsuyama Airfield was occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War. During 1945, attacked by American fighters and bombers. Japanese units based at Matsuyama 37 Kyoiku Hikotai (Ki-61 Fighter Training Unit) 1944 American missions against Matsuyama March 2, 1945–August 12, 1945 Today Still in use today as Taoyuan Airport or Taoyuan International Airport.
