Lat 28° 6' 10N Long 80° 38' 43W  NAS Banana River is located between Satellite Beach and Cocoa Beach in Brevard County, Florida in the United States of America. To the west is the Banana River and to the east is the Atlantic Ocean.

Construction

Built prewar by the U.S. Navy (USN) as a seaplane base commissioned as NAS Banana River.

Wartime History
During World War II, PBY Catalina flying boats operated from NAS Banana River to patrol off eastern coast of Florida over the Atlantic Ocean.

Postwar
Turned over to the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and still in use today as Patrick Air Force Base (Patrick AFB) as a military airfield with two runways. The first is oriented 20/02 measures 9,023' x 200' surfaced with asphalt. The second is oriented 20/02 measures 9,023' x 200' surfaced with asphalt. Airport codes: FAA: COF ICAO: KCOF IATA: COF. Today, bases the USAF 45th Space Wing that supports space flight from the Kennedy Space Center (KSC).
