Jean-Claude Tranape recalls:
"This dog tag was found at Port Havannah in the island of Efate. This day, my friend and I, search all kinds of American things in the sand of this beach very well know by the natives. In the sand, we found some pieces of table service, china, forks, spoons, small cross, and the dog tag of "Thomas Bryan " at the limit of the sand and the bush. The rear side is intact and it is possible to see very well the finger-print. Near this site was an old landing-trip and runway. In the jungle, one use to find many planes crash."
