Two Airstrips remain at Gusap today. They are both grassed, and
are maintained by the local Sugar Company. They are used for agricultural
purposes, plus the occasional light charter for nearby mountain
strips.
All the revetments [180] remain as well as concrete building
pads and steps. Some old metal equipment can be found, including
abandoned Airborne bulldozers, scrapped GMCs and jeeps and fuel
tanks, including some used by the A-20s.
Much of the area is used as a cattle ranch today. Some aircraft
debris is about, but all of the aluminium has been scrapped where
access is easy. A number of aircraft engines can be seen, the
last remnants of a once hectic six months, nearly sixty years
ago.
