The Missing Aircraft Report number for the loss of 42-12697 is 12603, which is held in the National Archives in Washington DC.
I can also confirm that the unit lost another B-25 on the same day, 42-87296.

Daniel is correct with the names according to details given to me by Bruce two decades ago! Actually, his records has the B-24D as ditching in Bootless Bay off the end of the runway at Seven Mile. John - Believe the aircraft was in fact a B-17. Check with Bruce Hoy who has a wealth of information on American casualties and aircraft serial numbers. I think the aircraft was 41-26??.
