Thanks west front I have seen the chronology of attacks on the shortland islands on this website, although the trip when Sooter went missing is not listed. I am interested to find out did any Pacific Islands indigenous units qualify for the 1939 - 1945 star? Or indeed what medals are pacific veterans, PNG, Solomon Islanders, Fijians, Tongans etc able to wear?
