Project PRIAM Technical Issues

Hi All, I just thought I'd let you all know that the Project PRIAM database has suffered some technical issues which we are currently working on to resolve. The database still works fine, though I have been unable to update it since about February. Apologies to all those who I've advised would have ...

Re: B-17E 41-9234

I'm not sure about the B-17s, but I know US aircraft (P-51 and B-24) that served with the RAAF retained the US serial in these stamps. These are however late war aircraft, so I don't know if the earlier aircraft kept them. The problem will be those aircraft which were delivered direct to the UK from...

RAF Losses (and Wrecks) in Malaysia

Hi All, I'm currently compiling a list of RAF/RAAF/RNZAF etc losses in Malaysia and Singapore from the early (1941-42) days. I remember some time back there was someone on this forum from a research group in Malaysia, and was hoping they might be able to get in touch with me regarding this research....

Re: Soryu and Hiryu losses?

The Soryu and Hiryu were only sent to Wake after the first failed attempt to take the island. I've read that a total of 28 land and carrier based Japanese aircraft were lost during the second assault on Wake. Unfortunately I don't have exact details of these aircraft.

Re: Lockheed Hudson A16-97

Having been living in Canberra for about 5 years now, I've visited this site a number of times. There's nothing recognisable there, though a large rock has been set up as a memorial. I've hunted through the pine forest there and have found a large ditch in which I did locate some small rivet looking...

Re: B-17 41-9151 Major Hall's plane what are the

Unfortunately I doubt anyone could really provide the "chances" of finding any of these aircraft. The Pacific Wrecks profiles for each are at the following URLs: 41-9151 : http://www.pacificwrecks.com/aircraft/b-17/41-9151.html 41-9122 : http://www.pacificwrecks.com/aircraft/b-17/41-9122.html 41-244...

Re: pby5a wreck choiseul?

First of all, welcome to the Forum! I'm currently trying to locate the names of the crew of PBY-5 BuNo 48259. So far I have only been able to locate one name - Lt(jg) C Burkhardt - which is not listed on the American Battle Monuments Commission website, suggesting that either his remains have been r...

Re: Human Remains Sold in PNG

Back in November 2007 (or thereabouts) I received a phone call from a female reporter at the ABC who questioned me regarding remains in the area and whether I had bought - or been offered to buy - human remains during my visits to Sanananda in 2005 and 2006. I forwarded details regarding my trips to...
