66 years ago today.....March 31st, 1942, the 飛行*第78*戦隊 (78th, Hikousentai) was formed to combine with the 68th, Hikousentai eventually making up the core elements of the 14th, Hikoudan......Though initially flying Ki-27, trained in Ki-43, they would be known for their use of the Ki-61 in New Guinea and though a struggle to put it mildly, fighting for one's country and people a glory all its own.

Taking just a moment to reflect, so no one of whatever side goes unremembered.
