hello I am trying to find information on a B-29 that went down in Jan 1945 based in saipan. My Grandfather Harry Lee Mears was a tail gunner on that plane Homing De-Vice ser# 42-24785. Z Square 31 part of the 500th bomber wing 882nd Squadron. I found a list of the crew and all were lost but the ground crew chief was Charles C. Faust does anyone have any info on this plane or my grandfather...all these years and my grandmother knows nothing about anything.. they were married on dec 3rd 1944 and he was lost on jan 23rd 1945 Thank you
