Sad news, but the government of Indonesia has take action to prevent further damage to the wreck.

The Indonesian Agency for Protection of Historical Sites has put additional efforts to protect the wreck, and other Battle of Java Sea wrecks.

My father was a survivor of the Perth ,I think the Japs were looking at salvaging it in the 60's and were howled down as it was a war grave site . Now this happens ,shows sentement doesn't get in the road of progress [money ] . I was reading this forum about Recovery or Leave items alone , now here is a prime example of desecration of a known war grave 355 lives .
