did melanesian units qualify for the 1939 - 1945 star?

I am interested to find out did any Pacific Islands indigenous units qualify for the 1939 - 1945 star? Or indeed what medals are pacific veterans, PNG, Solomon Islanders, Fijians, Tongans etc able to wear?
