I was wondering if anyone had details on the following 71st TRG F-6 Mustangs:
44-14633 - Lost 04-Dec-1944 (MACR 12190).
44-14619 - Lost 22-Feb-1945 (MACR 12676).
44-14841 - Lost 05-Mar-1945.
Any details as to pilot, squadron and mission would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the 1946 date is not a typo as such, it means that no confirmed death took place on the date of the loss.
So in order to settle the estate and widow type admin. Then the DOD was extended by 12 months.
Normally they will note change the DOD if the remains are found after the one year extension.
With some very high up sponsorship we haver been trying tonget the DOD change to the correct one, on the headstones of Beautifull Betsy with no result.
