B-29 42-94098 (26/27 JULY 1945)

Post by wemoryto »

I am searching for information on B-29 42-94098, which went down early on the morning of 27 July 1945 after a bombing raid on Omuta Japan. My great uncle; Cpl Martin W. O'Brien Jr. was a gunner who perished on the mission. I have several references that discuss the crew's fate. Here is one: http://www.mansell.com/pow_resources/ca ... Page06.htm

Within this reference, the crash site is noted to be 33*16'00.0"N 130*42'00.00"E. I was curious to know if this wreck has been documented by Pacific Wrecks, and if it is still on site.

Thanks in advance for any assistance. Bill
