PIVA airstrip crash Nov 1943

I am looking for any information regarding the plane crash on Palmyra that occurred in Nov 1943. My Grandfather, John Vincent Fryslie died in the plane crash. He was the photographer in the plane at the time for squadron 254. Any information regarding this crash and other soldiers involved would be appreciated.
