Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone had any further information regarding the loss of 2/Lt Miles B McDougal, Jr, O-766586 of the 340th Fighter Squadron, 348th Fighter Group.
His P-47 was hit by Anti-Aircraft fire during a bombing run at Kahoe in the Halmaheras on September 6, 1944. Unfortunately the research I have done and been sent as well as Stanaway's "Kearby's Thunderbolts" does not give a serial for the aircraft.
According to the ABMC website, 2/Lt McDougal is still listed as Missing. This has also been confirmed by an independant American researcher.
Any further information would be greatly appreciated.
