I am searching for information about PFC Arthur Littman USAAC who went MIA on 27 November 1943 in Europe. This is a wonderful site so I was wondering if there might be a similar site for ETO casualties and wrecks? Any information or leads will be deeply appreciated.

Unfortunately I do not know of a specific database of MIAs/Wrecks which covers the whole ETO, though there are a number of specialist sites out there (for various groups, services, regions etc). Best bet would be try http://www.armyairforces.com as a start.

Here are some details from searches I've already done:
1) According to the ABMC Database, PFC Arthur Littman, 32710557 is listed on the Tablets of the Missing at the North Africa American Cemetery, Carthage, Tunisia as having died (or being declared dead) on 27 November 1943. Unfortunately it doesn't list a specific unit.
2) I am unable to find a MACR on Footnote which includes Arthur Littman's name or service number.
3) The ArmyAirForces.com MACR database lists a number of aircraft as missing on 27 November 1943, though those MACRs related to Med/ETO groups do not show PFC Littman as being on board.

Oustanding information. I do have some questions regarding the sites and databases your are referencing.

1. What is meaning of the acronym ABMC and how do I get to that database?
2. What is the meaning of MACR?

I have found, by searching on the net, that there appears to have been other casualties in the ETO, due to aircraft loss on that date. Is it too much of a stretch to make the connection that he was on one of the aircraft that was lost? Does an aircraft that crashes into the sea count as buried at sea? Thanks so much for all the help!

Thanks a lot for this. So my questions are these. Can I assume that he was KIA in a aircraft crash off of North Africa? Is there any way of knowing what aircraft he might have been in? Are there lists of aircraft known to have crashed in the ETO on that date? Thanks so much in advance.

Arthur Littman was a casualty on the HMT Rohna, which was sunk Nov 26, 1943. Here is a link which has his name listed on the casualty lists. Search for Littman on the page.

This sinking of the Rohna was kept very quiet during the war as it was sunk by a new type of guided bomb.
