43rd Engineers in South West Pacfic

My grandfather with in the US Army 43rd Engineers during WW2 and I'm trying to find out where he would have been during the war.
From the information I've been able to gather from family I know he was at the battle of Milne Bay, Buna or Gona, Philippines and then Okinawa (after the war constructing an airfield).
I haven't been able to find much informaiton on the web at all and would appreciate any help in filling in the blanks.
