Photo Recon 7 or 8th group

My name is Kevan Avery, my father, Gerald Avery was stationed on Biak Island during the WW2. He flew with the 7th or 8th photo recon squadron, using P38 air craft. I am attempting to create a journal on his life in the Army Air Core, and the US Air force. Dad died in an aircraft accident in April of 1960.
What I would like is to find some one that might have known him during WW2.
