Vought retirees find, restore World War II Corsair fighter

DALLAS — After four years of painstaking labor, artisans of the Vought Aircraft Retirees Club have restored an icon of U.S. aviation history, a World War II-vintage F4U Corsair fighter plane.......Vought retirees, who organized in 1999 to begin restoring airplanes to celebrate the company’s nearly century-long heritage, had several aircraft under their belt when they located and purchased for $200,000 portions of a wrecked aircraft in 2004.
