98th Bomber Squadron, 11th Bomber Group, Heavy

Post by sal69 »

I welcome any information regarding my Great-Uncle, First Lieutenant Robert Bruce Loder.

This is what I know:

98th Bomber Squadron, 11th Bomber Group, Heavy
U.S. Army Air Force
0-417173

KIA
7 August 1942
Pacific

My father, Bruce, was named after his Uncle Bruce (the family didn't use Robert). My dad recalls visiting the military base before his uncle's deployment. It would mean so much to learn ANY little bit of anything.

Thank you,
Courtney Loder Cueva

Courtney,

1/Lt Robert B Loder was the pilot of B-17E 41-9224 which was lost on August 7, 1942. Quite a large amount of information regarding this loss can be found HERE.

I am in the process of adding this loss to the Project PRIAM database and the profile for your great-uncle will be available online HERE some time in the next few hours.

Please let me know if you require anything further.
