New this month is the Veteran's Speak section. Currently, there is an interview with James Hilburn, a 41st Fighter Squadron Armor. The list of airfields he served at reads like the pages of a history book. Be sure to read some of his recollections, and see his WWII photographs.

The wreck bulletin board launched last month has been well recieved. Many interesting histories, MIA information and dialog has sprung from it. Of particular interest is Alfred Weinzierl's post about help with Japanese translation. Or, the post about dog tags discovered in New Ireland.

If you have not visited the bullien board lately, check it out... http://www.mhv.net/~wanpela/wrecks/bboard/

It has been a productive time for the website. Many emails, lots of updated information and excitiment. Again, thank you for visiting the site, and making it into the source for information on this topic!

Enjoy, Justin

Soldiers in isolated regions fought on for years after the surrender...

Read about a Japanese soldier in the Philippines discovered in 1997! On Mindoro, 85 year old Sangrayban was one of a group of soldiers who landed on the island in 1943 with orders "not to surrender under any circumstances". He thought that American leafletts dropped over the island in 1945 that declaringthe war was over were a propaganda trick. After his compainions died, he went native, living among the Mangyan tribe for 54 years....
