Lat 21° 13' 0S  Long 149° 9' 0E  Bakers Creek is located in Queensland in Australia. Also known as Scrubby Creek. To the north is Mackay.

Memorial at Baker's Creek
This memorial consists of two brick pillars with bronze plaques and a propeller in the center. Behind are two flagpoles for the Australian and United States flags. Dedicated to the crash of B-17C "Miss E.M.F." 40-2072 near Bakers Creek on June 14, 1943. Read memorial plaque. Aboard, forty crew and passengers were killed in the crash. One man, , Sgt Foye K. Roberts survived. This crash was the worst aviation disaster in Australia during World War II, the worst aviation disaster in Australia, the worst US military crash at that time and the worst single disaster involving a B-17, in terms of the number killed.
