Location
Lat 27° 36' 42S Long 152° 46' 6E  Ipswich is located at an elevation of 265' / 80m above sea level in central Queensland in Australia. Also spelled Ipswitch. To the west is Amberley and to the east is Brisbane.

Ipswich Cemetery (USAF Cemetery Brisbane)
During May 1942, U.S. forces in Australia established a military cemetery at Manson Park in Ipswich. Known as Ipswich Cemetery or Ipswich USAF Cemetery Brisbane. At the end of World War II, burials from elsewhere in Australia and New Guinea were consolidated here with the total number of graves reaching 1,260. During the late 1940s all the American graves were exhumed and transported to the United States for permanent burial. Today known as Manson Park in honor of Mrs. Rose Manson who tended to the graves during the war years. A heritage place marker was placed at the entrance to the park by the Ipswich City Council.
